Bio

I have been making records for many years, learning my craft from many noted musicians, producers and engineers along the way including John Leckie, Johnny Marr, Bernard Sumner, Arthur Baker and many others.

My first job was at the renowned Chapel Studios. As a sound engineer at Chapel I learnt to record properly from world class engineers , engineering many different types of artists along the way including Black Grape and Robert Wyatt.

After engineering an Ian McCulloch album produced by Johnny Marr,  I was asked to move to Manchester to work on  Electronic’s second album, featuring Johnny, band mate Bernard Sumner and Karl Bartos

JIM PRODUCER MANCHESTER

The album went on to chart in the U.K. top 10, and launched the beginning of many successful years of working alongside Johnny and Bernard in many other projects.

Johnny introduced me to The Charlatans, with whom I’ve gone onto co-produce 6 albums. Since then I’ve helped develop many artists and mixed countless songs for artists including  The Vaccines, The Cribs, New Order, Starsailor.

In 2017 I joined Eve Mastering as head of mastering,  alongside my producing and mixing work.

One of my passions is to write music, and I write alongside singer Paul Eaton under the name DLFW.

As well as making music, I am also one quarter of record label OGenesis, with Tim Burgess(Charlatans), Nik Void(Factory Floor) and Nick Fraser(The House Party).
